9th Oct Ajmer : The 6th day of the ISFI festival continued with
visitors at the Al ikhlas Gallery in the day. The evening at the
Mehfil - e - Sama in the Jawahar Rang Manch welcomed Chief Guest:
Ustaad Iqbal Ahmed Khan Saheb of Delhi Gharana music and the, ‘Khalifa
of Delhi Gharana’. is most expressive when he talks of the past. He
belongs to what he claims to be the oldest Gharana in North India,
founded by the composer-poet Amir Khusro, the father of Hindustan
Music. The evening began with the rendering sitar recital by Sitar
Maestro Dr Sudeep Rai (Disciple of Padmabhushan Pt Debu Chaudhuri). It
was a 'rhythm rising from perfect harmony between a man and his
soul'.
The accompanist on Tabla Ustaad Amjad Khan collectively gave an
unforgettable recitation .The raga’s composed format was well adhered
to. The brief rendering however impressed his able management for the
raga and the composition. Sufi Sama by Asad and Zaheer Ahmed Warsi Brothers
